Responsibilities
Deliverable-focused responsibilities to introduce and validate new hardware platforms in large-scale data centers.
- Lead new product introduction and associated processes for global data center deployment.
- Run architecture and hardware reviews; define diagnostic coverage and serviceability requirements.
- Develop, execute and maintain Data Center tooling validation test plans and readiness activities.
- Engage early with internal and external design teams to influence hardware and tooling architecture.
- Collaborate with Production Engineers, Hardware Validation, Tooling Automation and Data Center Operations to align roadmaps and milestones.
- Work with ODM/OEM vendors to define specifications, development and test plans.
- Capture production lessons learned and convert them into test cases for future platforms.
- Travel domestically and internationally up to ~25%.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful execution in this role.
- 5+ years of system administration, systems engineering, hardware validation testing, or acceptance testing for compute, storage, networking, or AI/ML equipment.
- Experience developing and executing test plans derived from specifications using industry-standard testing tools.
- Hands-on troubleshooting and diagnosis of ASICs, compute, storage or network hardware and familiarity with hardware manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to resolve technical issues and align milestones.
- Experience with operational validation methods and verification activities for hardware integration.
- Experience coding in higher-level languages such as Python, C++, Java, or PHP, and learning new software, frameworks and APIs.
- Ability to work with vendors (ODM/OEM) and influence hardware/tooling designs.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of out-of-band/lights-out server methods (IPMI, serial console).
- Test-driven software development experience; familiarity with Linux and SCM tools (git).
- Experience with AI/ML hardware deployment at scale and managing large server installations.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required. A master’s degree in Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering is listed as preferred.
