Experience Level

Mid-level (Level - Mid-Career). Years of experience: not specified.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on new product introduction, test plan development, cross-functional coordination, and validating tooling and automation for data center deployments.

  • Lead new product introduction processes to launch hardware platforms into global data centers.
  • Conduct architecture and hardware reviews; develop diagnostic and serviceability plans.
  • Define system design-for-serviceability requirements to ensure form, fit, and function in existing data center environments.
  • Create and execute tooling validation and data center readiness test plans derived from specifications.
  • Engage early with internal and external design teams to influence hardware and tooling architecture.
  • Coordinate with Data Center Operations, Production Engineering, Hardware Validation, and Tooling Automation teams to align roadmaps and test coverage.
  • Work with ODM/OEM vendors to define product specs, development plans, and test procedures.
  • Capture lessons learned from production issues and convert them into test cases and process improvements.
  • Triage, test, debug hardware platforms and produce clear documentation for users at multiple levels.
  • Travel: approximately 25% domestic and/or international travel required.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience required to perform the role, followed by preferred qualifications.

Must-have:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to operate in ambiguous environments and develop processes for new technologies to reach production.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans using industry-standard testing tools.
  • Hands-on experience with ASICs, compute, storage, and network architecture/components and hardware troubleshooting/diagnostics.
  • Experience working with global and remote teams.
  • Proficiency in higher-level programming languages (examples: Python, PHP, C++, or Java).
  • Experience learning and using software frameworks and APIs; familiar with operational validation and verification activities for product integration.
  • Experience mentoring others and collaborating to improve tools and processes.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with AI/ML hardware development and large-scale deployment.
  • Familiarity with git or similar source-control tools and test-driven development practices.
  • Knowledge of out-of-band/lights-out server management (e.g., IPMI, serial console) and Linux utilities.
  • Experience with hardware development lifecycle management and managing large-scale server installations.

Education Requirements

Minimum: BS in Engineering or a relevant field, or commensurate technical experience. Preferred: Master's or PhD in Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering. Equivalent practical or technical experience is acceptable where stated.
