Job Title
MTS Product Development Engineer
Role Summary
The MTS Product Development Engineer develops and validates production test methodologies for FPGA products, focusing on full‑chip test, on‑chip DFT, ATE program development, and first‑silicon debug. The role partners with design, software, manufacturing, and product teams to ensure robust test capability and efficient manufacturing ramp.
Experience Level
Senior — requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in semiconductor product development, test engineering, or related fields.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing test methods, creating ATE programs, and leading silicon debug to ensure product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Define, develop, verify, and optimize full‑chip test methodologies, including on‑chip DFT strategies, test vector generation, and coverage analysis.
- Design and implement automated test equipment (ATE) programs that are accurate, efficient, and scalable.
- Lead first‑silicon debug, perform root‑cause analysis, and drive corrective actions to resolve silicon issues.
- Collaborate across global design, software, manufacturing, and product teams to embed test capability throughout the product lifecycle.
- Drive test optimization efforts to reduce test cost, improve product quality, and accelerate production stability.
- Develop and validate test modules (e.g., CMT/HMDT) and test program conversions and validations on testers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed where appropriate.
- 10+ years of hands‑on experience in semiconductor product development, test engineering, or related roles.
- Deep knowledge of digital and analog circuit behavior and FPGA product test methodologies.
- Experience developing and validating ATE programs and full‑chip test flows.
- Proficiency in scripting for test automation and debug (TCL, PERL).
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills; proven ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for global, cross‑functional collaboration.
- Experience mentoring and developing other engineers; ability to lead technical activities.
- Nice to have: experience converting test patterns (e.g., STIL to pobj) and familiarity with CMT/HMDT module development and specific tester platforms.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). The posting also accepts equivalent practical experience in lieu of the degree.
