Systems Integration Engineer
Role Summary
The Systems Integration Engineer leads integration of new hardware platforms and infrastructure technologies into data centers. The role designs for serviceability, validates tooling and automation readiness, and develops test plans for operational deployment at scale.
Works on a small cross-functional team with hardware engineering, production validation, tooling automation, and data center operations to enable reliable launches of AI/ML, compute, storage, and networking hardware.
Experience Level
Senior — requires extensive experience; posting specifies 10+ years of relevant engineering, system administration, hardware validation, or acceptance testing experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead new product introduction and processes to launch hardware platforms into data centers globally.
- Drive architecture and hardware reviews; develop diagnostic and Design for Serviceability (DFS) requirements.
- Define and execute data center tooling validation and readiness testing.
- Engage early with internal and external design teams to influence hardware and tooling architecture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align platform roadmaps and implementation milestones.
- Work with ODM/OEM vendors to define specifications, development plans, and test plans.
- Capture production lessons learned and convert them into test cases for future platforms.
- Travel up to ~25% domestically and internationally to data centers and offices.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience (must):
- 10+ years of system engineering, hardware validation testing, system administration, or acceptance testing for AI/ML, compute, storage, or networking equipment.
- Strong technical aptitude with familiarity in ASIC, compute, storage, and network architectures and components; hardware troubleshooting and diagnosis experience.
- Experience developing and executing test plans derived from specifications using industry-standard testing tools.
- Experience with operational validation and verification activities for new product integration at scale.
- Experience coding in higher-level languages such as Python, PHP, C++, or Java; ability to learn software, frameworks, and APIs.
- Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence teams; strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with geographically distributed/global teams.
Nice-to-have skills:
- Experience with Linux operating systems and utilities.
- Familiarity with test-driven development and SCM tools (git or similar).
- Knowledge of out-of-band / lights-out server methods (e.g., IPMI, serial console).
- Experience with hardware development lifecycle management and large-scale server installations.
- Experience integrating AI tools to optimize workflows and familiarity with AI/ML hardware deployment.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant technical field is listed as required or equivalent technical experience is accepted. A Master’s or PhD in Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering is listed as preferred. The posting allows commensurate practical experience in lieu of formal degrees.
