Systems Engineering Internship (Summer 2027)
Role Summary
As a systems engineering intern you will work on SerDes IP system analysis and design, MATLAB modeling, and support digital and analog circuit analysis within the Systems Engineering team. The role is full-time, on-site in Mississauga for an 8-month internship starting May 2027.
Experience Level
Entry-level - internship targeted at current university students. Senior-year Bachelor's students preferred; Master's students are welcome. No specific years of industry experience required.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with lead architects and mid-level engineers on high-performance SerDes IP projects and system design tasks.
- Develop and refine MATLAB models for serial communication systems.
- Assist in analysis of digital and analog circuit designs and apply communication theory to practical engineering problems.
- Support projects that use software and AI tools to optimize workflows and system performance.
- Document and present technical findings and recommendations to the engineering team.

- Must-have: Strong foundation in digital communications, analog circuits, system analysis, and control systems.
- Must-have: Working understanding of communication theory and exposure to analog design concepts.
- Must-have: Familiarity with MATLAB.
- Must-have: Good teamwork and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Python.
- Nice-to-have: Interest or experience using AI/advanced software tools to improve processes.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; senior-year undergraduates preferred. Master's students are also welcome to apply.
