Job Title

Systems Engineer (Electronics Integration)

Role Summary

Lead development, integration, and qualification of advanced e‑beam electronics and test systems. Work on system architecture, requirements, integration strategies, and system-level problem solving to deliver new technologies from concept through qualification.

Collaborate with electrical, software, optics, mechanical, and product engineering teams within the Global Products Group / Broadband Plasma Division to ensure performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Experience Level

Senior level. Minimum qualifications specify experience tied to degree: Doctorate + 3 years, Master’s + 6 years, Bachelor’s + 8 years (see Education Requirements for details).

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Lead integration of electronics, software, and hardware subsystems to meet system performance and reliability targets.
  • Define system architecture, requirements, verification, and validation strategies for advanced e‑beam systems and test platforms.
  • Drive system characterization, validation, and qualification plans for new and existing products.
  • Conduct complex root‑cause investigations and system‑level troubleshooting across hardware, software, and integration boundaries.
  • Provide technical leadership and coordinate cross‑functional tradeoffs with stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Strong foundation in electronics and system‑level engineering, including hardware/software integration.
  • Experience with requirements management, system integration, verification, and complex technical problem solving.
  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional technical efforts and execute complex engineering projects independently.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience developing or supporting hardware control, diagnostics, automation, or data acquisition software (Python, C/C++, MATLAB).
  • Experience with high‑voltage systems, mixed‑signal electronics, FPGA designs, or embedded control systems.
  • Background in semiconductor equipment, inspection systems, e‑beam technologies, or advanced instrumentation.

Education Requirements

Degree and experience requirements: Doctorate (PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related technical field with ~3 years related work experience; Master’s (MS) in those fields with ~6 years related work experience; Bachelor’s (BS/BE/BTech) in those fields with ~8 years related work experience. Related technical fields and related professional experience are acceptable.
