Systems Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for integrating order-specific customer requirements into wafer probe systems, supporting production and commissioning of new developments, and delivering software and ML solutions for robust structure identification and dynamic parametric optimization. Work closely with service, application, and production teams and produce technical documentation.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical expectation: Bachelor's plus ~2 years related experience, or an advanced degree in lieu of experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver technical and software solutions for wafer prober systems and ensure successful production integration.
- Integrate order-related customer requirements into existing wafer probe systems.
- Maintain products and coordinate component substitutions with purchasing.
- Support production during commissioning of new and revised systems.
- Collaborate with service and application engineers on setup and troubleshooting.
- Capture and analyze image data under application-specific conditions.
- Develop and train machine-learning models for structure identification and dynamic optimization of parametric settings.
- Implement automated on-learning code for continuous model improvement and validate models under real conditions (including physical contact and disruptive factors).
- Integrate ML solutions into existing FormFactor software and produce technical/scientific documentation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional attributes.
- Experience with design software such as SolidWorks, PDM Works, or QAD.
- Proficiency in common programming languages and tools, for example MATLAB, Python, and C#.
- Practical experience with image data capture and ML model development or deployment.
- Fluent written and spoken German and English.
- Confident user of MS Office applications.
- Demonstrated commitment, independence, initiative, flexibility, and ability to work in small teams.
Education Requirements
Completed university degree (e.g., Bachelor's) in mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field. The posting specifies a Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 2 years related experience, or an advanced degree without experience, or equivalent work experience.
