Job Title

Systems Debug Engineer - EE

Role Summary

Bring complex AI compute systems from design to production and maintain them in the field by diagnosing electrical, thermal, mechanical, and software-related failures. The role spans hands-on bench debug, root-cause analysis, and remote diagnosis of deployed systems using Linux tools and telemetry.

The engineer will work cross-functionally with ASIC, systems, manufacturing, and vendors to close corrective actions and feed findings into future hardware designs.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typically 3–5+ years of experience in hardware bring-up, system integration, board/system debug, or failure analysis.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hands-on troubleshooting, structured failure analysis, and cross-team communication.

  • Characterize failure signatures and perform hands-on troubleshooting at system, board, and component levels.
  • Drive failure analysis to root cause (silicon, PCB, or external components) using first-principles problem solving.
  • Remotely diagnose deployed systems using Linux CLI tools, logs, telemetry, and diagnostic workflows.
  • Analyze, document, and present results with actionable recommendations to design and manufacturing teams.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in design reviews and recommend electrical DFT, mechanical, and thermal improvements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items are separated below.

  • 3–5+ years experience in hardware bring-up, system integration, board/system debug, or failure analysis.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills; methodical, first-principles problem solving.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes and standard electrical bench instrumentation.
  • Experience scripting for data analysis and automation (preferably Python).
  • Ability to operate autonomously in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and communicate complex findings clearly.

Nice-to-have:

  • Comfort with Linux command-line diagnostics, logs, and remote-access workflows.
  • Failure analysis techniques (cross-section, SEM, X-ray).
  • Experience with contract manufacturers, PCB design/assembly processes, and reading schematics/board layouts.
  • Understanding of thermal, electrical, and mechanical interactions in high-performance systems.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required.
