Systems & Applications Engineer (Entry Level)
Role Summary
Provide technical customer support for NXP ARM-based microcontroller applications, develop C/C++ embedded software examples, and perform peripheral testing and chip debugging. Collaborate with customers and test teams to reproduce issues, validate hardware and firmware, and communicate technical results.
Experience Level
Entry-level. Suitable for recent graduates or engineers at the start of their career.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide customer-facing applications support for ARM-based microcontrollers.
- Develop and maintain C/C++ embedded firmware and peripheral example code.
- Design and execute tests for peripherals; measure signals, rise times, timing, and clocks.
- Debug chips using IDEs and lab equipment (oscilloscope, power supply, function generator, etc.).
- Manage source code and record test plans and results.
- Prepare and present technical material; interact directly with customers.
Requirements
Minimum technical skills and capabilities required:
- Must-have: Experience with embedded processors and ARM architectures.
- Must-have: Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded systems.
- Must-have: Familiarity with debugging tools and IDEs such as Keil, IAR, and MCUxpresso.
- Experience using lab test equipment and performing chip-level measurements.
- Source control and test documentation experience.
- Strong presentation and customer-facing communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience developing microcontroller peripheral drivers and example code.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred. The posting indicates degree completed within the past two years.
