Role Summary

Join the Microcontroller Systems Engineering team in Guadalajara to support application-specific microcontrollers and enable customer designs. The role provides technical support, develops firmware and reference designs, and works with customers, partners, product teams and sales to enable adoption of NXP technology.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on firmware and application support, reference designs, customer enablement, and product introduction activities.

• Develop and maintain firmware for application-specific microprocessors.
• Create demos and PCB reference designs to enable emerging markets.
• Customize firmware for large customers to integrate NXP technology.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales to define next-generation products.
• Participate in product enhancement and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
• Provide training and technical enablement to customers and sales teams.

Requirements

Core technical skills and domain experience required or strongly preferred.

• Must-have: Highly proficient in the C programming language.
• Must-have: Experience with embedded Systems-on-Chip, particularly ARM Cortex architectures.
• Must-have: Experience using embedded software programming and debugging tools.
• Must-have: Technical writing skills for application notes, user guides and reference manuals.
• Must-have: Embedded software development and debugging experience (operating systems, device drivers, connectivity stacks such as BLE, Thread, 802.15.4, Zigbee, WiFi).
• Nice-to-have: Experience with other languages such as Python and C++.
• Nice-to-have: RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, Azure RTOS, Zephyr, QNX).
• Nice-to-have: SOC design, architecture, validation, or experience producing PCB reference design and validation board hardware.

Education Requirements

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical discipline (as stated in the posting).
