Job Title

Systems and Hardware Enabling Engineer

Role Summary

Work in Intel's Networking Solutions Group (NSG) within the Customer Experience Support organization to enable programmable Infrastructure Processing Unit (IPU) solutions for major cloud customers. The role focuses on board/platform bring-up, validation, debugging, and delivering technical solutions that improve performance, security, and system management.

Responsibilities

The role provides technical enablement and hands-on engineering support for IPU/Networking platforms across development, testing, and production.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to customers integrating Intel Ethernet/IPU products.
  • Perform board/platform bring-up, validation, root-cause debugging, and issue resolution for hardware designs.
  • Develop and maintain debug tools, scripts, and automation to improve validation efficiency.
  • Create technical collateral: application notes, user guides, white papers, and internal runbooks.
  • Analyze customer designs and feedback to inform product, planning, and engineering teams.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, marketing, program management) to integrate customer requirements and support product ramps.

Requirements

Minimum technical skills and experience required for initial consideration; preferred items are listed where applicable.

  • 5+ years of industry experience working on hardware or platform engineering projects.
  • 3+ years of hardware design, board-level debugging, bring-up, and testing on Intel or ARM architectures.
  • 2+ years working with modern networking architectures, protocols, topologies, and networking products.
  • Hands-on lab experience with tools such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Familiarity with schematics and PCB layout files.
  • Programming and scripting experience (for example, Python) to develop debug and automation tools.
  • Preferred: experience enabling products directly with customers and system-level debugging across hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Preferred: knowledge of Ethernet products/ecosystem, BIOS/firmware/device drivers, and system integration tradeoffs (thermal, power, signal integrity).
  • Preferred: system or network administration experience with scaled datacenter workloads and strong cross-functional communication skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required. A master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field is preferred.
