System Validation Engineer (New Grads)
Role Summary
Join SiFive's System Validation team to validate RISC-V CPUs on FPGA platforms and development/bring-up boards. The role focuses on hardware/software root-cause analysis, FPGA bring-up, and debug automation.
Experience Level
Entry-level - targeted at new graduates.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include validating CPU designs and diagnosing failures across hardware and software components.
- Perform root-cause and failure analysis across RISC-V CPU hardware and software.
- Use ILA and JTAG debuggers to troubleshoot and validate FPGA designs.
- Develop systematic failure hypotheses and eliminate potential causes methodically.
- Implement and maintain Python-based scripts to automate and improve debug workflows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes.
- Strong understanding of computer architecture and digital logic design.
- Experience with Verilog and porting designs to FPGA platforms.
- Practical experience with Linux and scripting (Python and BASH).
- Familiarity with FPGA debug tools (ILA/JTAG) is expected from hands-on work.
- Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and a focus on delivering quality work.
- Successful background and reference checks; ability to demonstrate right to work in Taiwan may be required.
- Employment contingent on any necessary export-control authorizations or licenses.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electronics and Communication Engineering is required.
