Role Summary
Intern on the System Software team for video chips at NVIDIA Semiconductor Shanghai. Contribute to software features, testing, and tooling for GPU video accelerators and work closely with software and hardware engineers throughout feature development.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for current students (undergraduate or graduate); no prior professional experience required.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, implementation, testing, and tool development supporting GPU video accelerator features.
- Develop software features for GPU video accelerators.
- Collaborate with cross-functional software engineers through the full feature development cycle.
- Develop tools to improve software quality and engineering productivity.
- Test and validate hardware features for video accelerators.
Requirements
Core skills and experience required; separate list of preferred skills follows.
Must-have:
- Proficient in C/C++ programming.
- Familiarity with computer system architectures and hardware/software interface layer models.
- Strong problem-solving ability; experience with system-level debugging is highly valued.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Firmware development experience.
- Familiarity with video compression standards (H.264/HEVC/AV1/AV2).
- Understanding of Windows and Linux internals.
Education Requirements
Pursuing a BS or MS degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
