Role Summary

Lead development of a new Linux kernel-mode driver for NVIDIA GPUs, making architectural decisions and coordinating with the Linux kernel community. Work with a small team to align GPU and kernel roadmaps and ensure upstream compatibility.

Senior — requires 10+ years industry experience as a software developer.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, development, and upstream collaboration:

• Develop a new kernel-mode Linux driver supporting current-generation NVIDIA GPUs.
• Collaborate with the Linux kernel community and submit upstream patches.
• Define and influence driver architecture and design to enable upstream acceptance.
• Represent NVIDIA GPU kernel software to external open-source stakeholders.
• Make cross-roadmap architectural decisions to align GPU and Linux kernel development.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications:

• 10+ years industry experience as a software developer.
• Proven experience writing device drivers and kernel-mode software.
• Direct experience contributing to the Linux kernel with a track record of upstreaming patches.
• Experience working in small teams on low-level system software and collaborating with external upstream communities.

Nice-to-have:

• Prior experience with GPU driver development or graphics kernel subsystems.
• Experience influencing software architecture for upstream acceptance.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
