System Software Engineer - Trusted Firmware
Role Summary
Develop system software for NVIDIA Tegra platforms with focus on ARM Trusted Firmware (TF-A, Hafnium, RMM) and Confidential Compute features. Work on low-level firmware, bring-up, drivers and architecture analysis for next-generation Tegra SoCs in Santa Clara, CA.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typically requires at least 2 years of relevant embedded systems or device driver development experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver and productize low-level system software for Tegra SoCs and contribute to upstream ARM firmware and standards.
- Design and implement components in the ARM Trusted Firmware stack (Hafnium, TF-A, RMM).
- Develop and optimize low-level device drivers and firmware for Tegra platforms.
- Work with upstream communities to integrate and improve support for ARM technologies such as Confidential Compute, PSCI, FFA, and RMI.
- Perform bring-up and debugging on next-generation SoC hardware and system platforms.
- Investigate and resolve complex issues related to power, performance, and security in the trusted firmware stack.
- Participate in architectural explorations, feasibility studies, safety evaluations, and CPU performance analysis.
- Review architecture documents and drive designs from specification to productization.
Requirements

Must-have:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with embedded systems and device driver development.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ and low-level programming.
- Deep understanding of operating system fundamentals and computer architecture concepts (MMU, cache coherency, TLB, timers, ISRs).
- Experience with SOC bring-up, debugging, and performance analysis.
- Proven problem-solving skills and history of delivering high-quality software.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with ARM trusted components, bootloaders, hypervisors, or UEFI.
- Knowledge of safety and security standards such as ISO 26262, CERT-C, MISRA-C.
- Experience contributing to or collaborating with upstream open-source firmware projects.
- Experience using agentic AI tools to assist software development and optimization.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field β or equivalent practical experience.
