Senior Display and Graphics Software Engineer - Customer Engineering

Role Summary

Join Qualcomm's Display and Graphics Software Customer Engineering team to support Linux-based Snapdragon platforms. The role focuses on customer-facing work: integration, customization, bring-up, debugging of device drivers, display and graphics subsystems, and kernel/OS frameworks. Travel to customer sites and Qualcomm offices may be required.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include customer support, software bring-up, debugging, and cross-team collaboration.

  • Support customers in integrating, customizing, and bringing up display and graphics software on Snapdragon platforms.
  • Debug device drivers, hardware interfaces, and kernel/OS-level issues using JTAG and other tools.
  • Analyze and resolve graphics/display processor and GPU-related issues across the software stack.
  • Provide technical training and documentation to customers as required.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to reproduce and fix customer-reported issues.
  • Travel to customer sites and Qualcomm locations for support, meetings, and training.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional behaviors for this role.

  • Strong C/C++ programming skills.
  • Device driver development and debugging experience, including use of JTAG or equivalent tools.
  • Familiarity with the Linux kernel, display/graphics software stack, and GPU/display processing.
  • Strong system-level debugging and troubleshooting skills on general-purpose processors.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; experience interacting directly with customers.
  • Self-starter mindset and ability to work both independently and in teams.
  • Nice-to-have: OS/system performance profiling and optimization, knowledge of microprocessor architecture and cache subsystems, familiarity with Python/Java, and prior embedded/Qualcomm Snapdragon platform experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 2+ years of software applications engineering or development experience; OR Master's degree in those fields plus 1+ year of relevant experience; OR PhD in those fields. The posting allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree. The posting also specifies at least 1+ year of combined academic and/or work experience with programming languages (C/C++, Java, Python) and 1+ year with debugging techniques.
