Job Title

System Software Engineer – GPU and SoC (2027 RDSS Intern)

Role Summary

Join the GPU Software team to design and implement system software for NVIDIA GPUs and SoC platforms. Focus areas include kernel drivers, firmware, performance and power management, and early hardware/software modeling.

Collaborate with hardware architects, system engineers, and global software teams through the development cycle from early simulation to shipping customer products.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Intern — targeted at new graduates (BS/MS/PhD) or candidates with equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, development, verification, and debugging of system software for GPUs and SoCs.

  • Design, develop, and verify GPU kernel drivers and embedded system software for next‑generation GPUs and SoC platforms.
  • Perform early modeling and simulation to validate hardware/software behavior.
  • Develop firmware and system features for performance and power management.
  • Troubleshoot complex system‑level issues spanning hardware and software.
  • Collaborate with hardware architects, system engineers, and cross‑functional teams globally.

Requirements

Core technical skills required; preferred qualifications listed separately.

Must-have:

  • Strong C and C++ programming skills and low‑level driver development experience.
  • Experience with x86, ARM, or SoC system platforms.
  • Kernel experience on Linux, Android, ChromeOS, or Windows.
  • Familiarity with computer system architecture, microprocessors, and microcontroller fundamentals.
  • Experience with complex system‑level debugging.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with SoC, GPU, or AI system architecture.
  • Deep understanding of device drivers, memory management, firmware, power management, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with large system build flows, open source projects, or embedded RTOS.

Education Requirements

New BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience. This role is part of NVIDIA's 2027 RDSS intern program; confirm local eligibility as required.
