Job Title

System Simulation Engineering CO-OP Intern

Role Summary

Work with a team that creates executable software models that simulate IP and SoC hardware to enable architectural exploration and pre-silicon firmware development and validation. Contribute to model design, implementation, testing, infrastructure, and customer support.

This is a co-op position for students; you will work alongside experienced engineers on development and debug tasks for custom silicon solutions.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Co-op / Internship). Suitable for current undergraduate students; no specific years of professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities for this role include:

  • Design and implement executable software models of IP and SoC components.
  • Develop and execute tests to verify model correctness and performance.
  • Support architectural exploration and pre-silicon firmware development and validation.
  • Develop infrastructure, tools, and automation to support modeling and validation workflows.
  • Debug model and firmware issues and work with engineers to resolve root causes.
  • Provide technical support and documentation for internal customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and participate in code reviews.

Requirements

Minimum and preferred skills and experience. The degree requirement is listed separately in Education Requirements.

  • Must-have: At least 3 months of practical experience with object-oriented design methodologies and programming in languages such as C or C++.
  • Must-have: Strong problem-solving skills and clear verbal and written communication.
  • Nice-to-have: Embedded software development experience (ARM, RISC-V, x86).
  • Nice-to-have: Scripting experience in Python, TCL, or similar languages.
  • Nice-to-have: General knowledge of embedded systems, digital ASIC design, and firmware/software testing methodology.

Education Requirements

Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
