Job Title

System Level Test Engineer - Staff

Role Summary

Member of the System Level Test (SLT) group responsible for early silicon bring-up, post-silicon validation, and system-level stress and characterization of Qualcomm SoCs across mobile, compute, automotive, and server platforms.

Work involves hardware test, software integration, automated test content, NPI and production test solutions, and validating system-level test equipment to ensure product quality and performance.

Experience Level

Senior β€” role expects experienced engineers; posting lists 8+ years of system/SW/bench testing experience as a guideline.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform early-stage silicon bring-up and post-silicon validation on Snapdragon-class SoCs.
  • Design and execute hardware and system-level tests to verify performance across voltage, process, and temperature conditions.
  • Create automated test content and frameworks to stress functional, performance, stability and benchmark workloads.
  • Define test board and instrument requirements; deliver NPI and production test solutions and production screens for system-level issues.
  • Validate new system-level testers and integrate them into the product roadmap.
  • Work with cross-functional and global teams to drive customer quality improvements and debug complex issues.
  • Use measurement equipment and debugging tools to triage hardware and software failures.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 8+ years of experience with system, software, or bench testing in the mobile devices / microprocessor industry.
  • Working knowledge of Android architecture, boot process, kernel, BSP and Android performance tools.
  • Ability to analyze specifications, hardware schematics and data sheets and develop SoC test cases.
  • Hands-on bench characterization, instrument evaluation, and production solution development.
  • Experience characterizing processors, graphics, memory, thermal and power behavior of SoCs.
  • Experience leading engineering efforts to develop low-cost test solutions and define test requirements.
  • Experience with measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, wireless network simulators) and debug tools such as JTAG/Lauterbach/Trace32 and Android debuggers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and effective written and verbal communication; experience collaborating with global teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with C#, .NET, C/C++, Python and source control systems (Perforce, GIT).
  • Software development experience on Android, Windows or Linux platforms; embedded software or FPGA experience.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field (posting also describes alternative Master's or PhD with reduced experience requirements). Preferred: Master's in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/Engineering. Degree-plus-years combinations are specified (Bachelor's + experience, Master's or PhD with fewer years).
