Role Summary
Join the Hardware Engineering team to plan, design, verify and test electronic systems and production test solutions for Qualcomm products. The role focuses on system-level test, bring-up, yield improvement, and test automation for digital/analog/RF/optical/FPGA/DSP systems and associated equipment.
Experience Level
Senior - preferred 3+ years of hardware engineering experience; minimum experience expectations indicated by the employer start at 2 years for entry via Bachelor's-level qualifications.
Responsibilities
Responsible for system-level hardware test, verification, and production support across design and manufacturing.
- Plan, optimize, verify, and test electronic systems and production test flows (digital, analog, RF, optical, FPGA, DSP).
- Integrate features into hardware designs and implement power/performance/area trade-offs through simulation and analysis.
- Develop and validate manufacturing and bring-up solutions to meet yield, quality, and schedule targets.
- Use and support test equipment and measurement tools; develop test automation to reduce test time and improve yield.
- Collaborate with design, verification, validation, software, systems engineering, and architecture teams to implement requirements and test solutions.
- Evaluate reliability of materials and techniques; introduce automation and process optimizations.
- Document technical designs, test plans, and results; assist in assessing complex design features for compatibility and compliance.
Requirements
Technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred.
- Minimum practical hardware engineering experience (company minimums indicate at least 2 years; preferred candidates have 3+ years).
- Experience with circuit design (digital, analog, or RF) and schematic capture/circuit simulation tools (typically 2+ years preferred).
- Proficiency with hardware design and measurement instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF tools, etc.).
- Experience developing manufacturing/test solutions, characterization, and bring-up for leading-edge products.
- Ability to perform simulations and analyses to optimize designs for power, performance, and area.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and influence cross-functional teams.
- Experience with test automation, yield improvement, and documentation of technical projects.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field (with ~2+ years hardware engineering experience); OR Master's degree in those fields (with ~1+ year experience) ; OR PhD in a related technical field.
