Job Title
System Level Test Engineer
Role Summary
Perform early-stage silicon bring-up and post-silicon validation for Snapdragon system-on-chip (SoC) products across mobile, compute, automotive, and server platforms. Work on IC hardware testing, software development, test automation, system engineering, and customer application validation as part of the System Level Test team.
Primary mission: verify device performance under varied operating conditions, develop automated stress tests and production screens to identify and reproduce system-level issues.
Experience Level
Entry-level (0β3 years of experience in system or bench-level testing)
Responsibilities
The engineer will execute validation, debug and automation tasks including:
- Bring up early silicon and perform post-silicon validation and characterization.
- Develop and execute test plans and test cases for processors, graphics, memory, thermal behavior, and power performance.
- Create automated test content and test sequencers to stress SoCs for functionality, performance, stability, and benchmarks.
- Characterize hardware with system software across varied voltages, process corners, and temperatures.
- Use lab equipment to collect measurement data, analyze results, and summarize findings.
- Collaborate with development teams to design effective production screening for system-level issues.
- Work cross-functionally and act as an individual contributor when required.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 0β3 years of system or bench-level testing experience, preferably in mobile, automotive, IoT, or microprocessor industries.
- Understanding of computer architecture and operating systems (Android, Windows, Linux, or RTOS).
- Experience with embedded systems and SoC-level testing concepts.
- Ability to read specifications, create test plans, and use test sequencers.
- Familiarity with source control systems such as Perforce or Git.
- Programming experience in one or more languages: C, C++, Python, C#, or .NET.
- Hands-on experience with lab measurement tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies).
- Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize test data.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience debugging or triage using Android debugging tools, JTAG, Lauterbach, or Trace32.
- Understanding of Android system architecture and boot process.
- Familiarity with system-level benchmarks such as Dhrystone and DOU.
- Relevant academic projects or internships in silicon validation, embedded systems, or hardware bring-up.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Masters degree in Electrical or Computer Science/Engineering. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
