Job Title

System Level Test Engineer

Role Summary

Work in Qualcomm's System Level Test (SLT) group to perform post-silicon validation, system-level testing, and hardware bring-up of Snapdragon SoCs. Collaborate with IC design, hardware, software, and customer teams to verify device performance, develop automated test content, and implement production screens.

Experience Level

Entry-level — 0–3 years of relevant experience in system- or bench-level testing within mobile, automotive, IoT, or microprocessor domains.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include validating silicon, diagnosing system issues, and creating automated test solutions to stress SoCs.

  • Support early-stage silicon bring-up and post-silicon validation.
  • Test and characterize hardware with system software across voltage, process, and temperature corners.
  • Develop automated test content for functional, performance, stability, and benchmark workloads across mobile, compute, automotive, server, and modem platforms.
  • Create and execute test plans and sequencers; read and interpret specifications.
  • Work with project leads to define effective production screens for system-level issues.
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize test data to drive engineering decisions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 0–3 years of experience in system- or bench-level testing (mobile, automotive, IoT, or microprocessor industries).
  • Understanding of computer architecture and operating systems (Android, Windows, Linux, or RTOS).
  • Experience with embedded systems and SoC-level testing concepts.
  • Ability to develop and execute test cases for processors, graphics, memory, thermal behavior, and power performance.
  • Experience creating test plans and using test sequencers.
  • Familiarity with source control systems such as Perforce or Git.
  • Programming experience in one or more: C, C++, Python, C#, or .NET.
  • Hands-on experience with lab measurement tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies).
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize test data effectively.

Preferred / nice-to-have:

  • Experience debugging or triaging with Android debugging tools, JTAG, Lauterbach, or Trace32.
  • Understanding of Android system architecture and boot process.
  • Familiarity with system-level benchmarks (e.g., Dhrystone, DOU).
  • Relevant academic projects or internships in silicon validation, embedded systems, or hardware bring-up.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field (source lists Electrical Engineering specifically). Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/Engineering.
