Job Title
System Level Test Engineer
Role Summary
Join the System Level Test group responsible for characterizing system performance of Snapdragon products. The role works across IC design reviews, silicon bring-up, post-silicon validation, hardware/software integration, and production test to identify and resolve system-level issues.
Work closely with hardware and software engineering teams to develop test plans, perform measurements across voltage/process/thermal conditions, and support NPI and high-volume manufacturing transitions.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting does not specify a strict years-of-experience requirement; candidates with prior experience in module or board testing and silicon validation are expected.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Support silicon bring-up and post-silicon validation for system-level performance.
- Design and execute hardware and system-level tests, benchmarks and stress tests.
- Characterize device behavior across voltage, process and thermal conditions.
- Collaborate with software teams to evaluate hardware/software interactions and integrated system performance.
- Perform PCB-level debug, module testing, and troubleshoot SMT-related issues.
- Work with production test teams to develop effective production screens for system-level issues.
- Document test results, report issues, and participate in design and test reviews.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Hands-on experience with module / system-in-package / board product testing in new product introduction (NPI) or high-volume manufacturing (HVM).
- Experience using electrical and system-level measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, wireless network simulators).
- Ability to read and interpret hardware schematics and layout files; PCB-level debug experience.
- Familiarity with source-control systems (Perforce, Git, or equivalent) and standard test-development workflows.
- Self-driven, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional engineering environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience characterizing high-speed interfaces (HDMI, Wi-Fi, PCIe, SATA, HSUSB) and mixed-signal circuits (ADC, DAC, PLL, codecs).
- Experience with C#, .NET, C/C++, Perl, or Python for test automation and tooling.
- Knowledge of system-level benchmarks and stress tests (e.g., Dhrystone, AnTuTu, Monkey Test).
- Server-product testing experience.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, or a related field.
