Job Title

System Level Test Engineer

Role Summary

Work on early silicon bring-up and post-silicon validation for Snapdragon SoCs. The role focuses on system-level testing, hardware characterization with system software, and development of automated test content to stress functional, performance, stability, and benchmark behavior across mobile, compute, automotive, and server products.

Experience Level

Entry-level; 0–3 years of relevant experience in system- or bench-level testing.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include validation, test development, and cross-team troubleshooting.

  • Perform early-stage silicon bring-up and post-silicon validation.
  • Test and characterize hardware with system software across voltage, process, and temperature corners.
  • Create automated test content and test sequences to stress SoCs (functional, performance, stability, benchmarks).
  • Verify processor, graphics, memory, thermal, and power performance.
  • Develop production screening methods for system-level issues.
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize test data and results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional development teams and project leads; work as an individual contributor when needed.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 0–3 years experience in system or bench-level testing (mobile, automotive, IoT, or microprocessor domains preferred).
  • Understanding of computer architecture and operating systems (Android, Windows, Linux, or RTOS).
  • Experience with embedded systems and SoC-level testing concepts.
  • Ability to develop and execute test cases for processors, graphics, memory, thermal, and power behavior.
  • Experience reading specifications, creating test plans, and using test sequencers.
  • Familiarity with source control systems such as Perforce or Git.
  • Programming experience in one or more: C, C++, Python, C#, or .NET.
  • Hands-on experience with lab measurement tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies).
  • Strong data collection and analysis skills.

Nice-to-have / preferred:

  • Experience with Android debugging tools, JTAG, Lauterbach, or Trace32 for triage.
  • Understanding of Android system architecture and boot process.
  • Familiarity with system-level benchmarks such as Dhrystone and DOU.
  • Relevant projects or internships in silicon validation, embedded systems, or hardware bring-up.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/Engineering.
