The role supports IC hardware testing, software development, system engineering, and customer applications to identify system-level issues during development and production ramp.
Work includes automating equipment and test flows, developing drivers and user interfaces, analyzing test data and dashboards, and partnering with software teams to evaluate integrated digital/RF performance across operating conditions.
Experience Level
Entry-level (0–3 years of relevant hands-on silicon validation, system test, or HW–SW integration experience)
Responsibilities
The engineer will deliver software and test infrastructure to improve SLT team efficiency and to detect system-level failures.
- Develop software programs, test tools, drivers and user interfaces for automation and validation.
- Automate test equipment and integrate test flows with source control and development processes.
- Create, run and maintain silicon validation test cases for system, software and bench testing.
- Analyze automated test data and produce dashboards and reports for team use.
- Partner with software teams to evaluate integrated system (digital/RF) performance across voltage, process and thermal conditions.
- Define and implement production screens to detect system-level issues during volume ramp.
- Work with project leads to triage issues and improve test coverage and reliability.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 0–3 years hands-on experience in silicon validation, system or bench testing, or HW–SW interactions.
- Proficiency in programming with C#, .NET, C/C++, and Python.
- Experience with software architecture, unit testing, and the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with source control systems such as Perforce or Git.
- Experience debugging with Android debugging tools, JTAG, Lauterbach, or Trace32.
- Understanding of computer architecture and operating systems (Android, Windows, Linux, or RTOS).
- Embedded software development and/or FPGA programming experience.
- Ability to read hardware schematics and data sheets and develop validation test cases.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Android architecture, boot process, kernel and BSP.
- Software development exposure on Android/Windows/Linux platforms.
- Experience using measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, wireless network simulators).
- Internship or relevant college project experience is a plus.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field is required (BSEE or equivalent). Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (MSEE preferred). The posting indicates equivalents are acceptable.
