Job Title

System Engineering Student (Undergraduate Intern)

Role Summary

Contribute to integration, validation, and troubleshooting of hardware, boards and system-level software for equipment and lab validation. Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable, testable systems used in Intel validation activities.

This is a part-time undergraduate internship focused on hands-on system development, debugging, and optimization.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” undergraduate student (BSc) with at least four semesters remaining; internship experience expected. This is a student/intern role rather than a full professional hire.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hands-on system assembly, test and integration, and collaborating with engineers to identify and resolve failures.

  • Assist in design and development of hardware-integrated software systems (e.g., robotics, inventory control, thermal control) that support validation activities.
  • Support system-level troubleshooting and perform root-cause analysis on failures.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth system integration and delivery.
  • Apply a practical, maker-oriented approach to prototype and iterate on hardware/software solutions.
  • Document findings and contribute to handover of validated systems to engineering teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical and logistical requirements for the internship.

  • Availability to work approximately 2 days per week on-site as required by the hybrid work model.
  • Proficiency in mechanical CAD tools and associated software.
  • Demonstrated software coding skills oriented to system-level solutions.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills; fluent in English.
  • Ability to perform hands-on assembly, testing, and troubleshooting in a lab environment.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with maker projects and practical HW/SW projects beyond coursework.
  • Interest in system-engineering trends and innovative validation approaches.

Education Requirements

Enrollment in a Bachelor's (BSc) undergraduate program β€” Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; at least four semesters remaining until graduation. (Undergraduate student status explicitly required.)
