System Engineering Program Manager

Role Summary

Lead multi‑national, multi‑discipline engineering teams to plan and execute platform solutions for next‑generation AMD client products from concept through customer ship. The role coordinates across silicon, platform, firmware and software domains and interfaces with business leaders and customers.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Accountable for planning, driving execution and representing the Client Systems Engineering organization for platform‑solution engineering efforts.

  • Own planning and execution of platform solution engineering to deliver customer solutions.
  • Drive alignment between AMD product deliverables and customer platforms to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Define and document program scope, establish integrated schedules, and manage program progress and risk.
  • Manage resources and budgets; oversee end‑to‑end validation and platform execution.
  • Represent the organization in corporate planning and present program status to senior executives.
  • Support customer‑facing teams to set product maturity and schedule expectations and resolve issues.
  • Develop and share processes to improve organizational efficiency and scalability.
  • Coordinate activities of geographically distributed technical teams.
  • Support limited domestic and international travel as needed.

Requirements

Must-have technical program management skills, ability to lead cross‑functional teams, and hands-on experience with tools and processes used for complex HW/SW product delivery.

  • Proven track record delivering sophisticated hardware/software programs from concept through customer ship using large matrixed teams.
  • Deep understanding of system‑level computing challenges across silicon, firmware, platform and software.
  • Strong program management: integrated scheduling, risk assessment, progress tracking, resource and budget planning.
  • Experience with end‑to‑end validation, pre‑ and post‑silicon verification, or equivalent platform validation activities.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and executive‑level presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence horizontally across multiple functional organizations and extract actionable plans from technical discussions.
  • Familiarity with MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams or Confluence for coordination and communication.
  • Familiarity with JAMA, JIRA or similar requirements/defect tracking tools; experience with Agile methodologies preferred.
  • Use of AI tools for project management activities and strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑site environment and to network independently to align resources.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering. MBA or PMI PMP® certification is a plus.
