System Engineer for Analog RF
Role Summary
System Engineers at Texas Instruments define and drive RF analog product roadmaps by translating customer and market requirements into technical specifications. The role partners with design, applications, marketing, and sales to ensure products meet performance, manufacturability, and cost targets and to drive design wins.
Experience Level
Mid-level; requires at least 5 years of relevant experience. Preferred candidates have 7+ years.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Research and define new RF/analog product opportunities; develop business cases and product strategies.
- Analyze end-equipment across industrial, automotive, consumer, and computing markets to identify trends and opportunities.
- Engage with customers and field teams to gather requirements, solve system problems, and build relationships that drive design wins.
- Assess IC definition and development tradeoffs with design teams and customers to meet technical and business constraints.
- Perform silicon system evaluation (hardware and software as needed) and produce related documentation.
- Create technical literature: datasheets, application notes, user guides, evaluation modules, reference designs, SPICE models, and SCMs.
- Provide applications support, train central applications and sales teams, and troubleshoot customer issues via lab testing and schematic analysis.
- Coordinate cross-functionally (design, product, test, packaging, marketing, sales) and contribute to short- and long-term product strategy and roadmap.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications:
- Domain experience in RF systems and/or semiconductors.
- Strong understanding of analog/RF/mixed-signal ICs and their application.
- Experience defining RF solutions for a strategic or broad customer base.
- Familiarity with RF lab equipment and measurement techniques.
- System-level circuit modeling experience with EDA tools such as SPICE, MATLAB, ADS.
- Strong written, oral, and customer-facing communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship (required for eligibility for a security clearance).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required. A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
