System Engineer
Role Summary
As a System Engineer at Voltai you will define, model, and integrate electromechanical and computational systems from simulation through silicon. You will develop system requirements, interface definitions, and validation plans, and own the system-level architecture that connects concept to production.
The role works across hardware, firmware, controls, and AI-driven design pipelines within a small, research-driven engineering organization focused on electronics and semiconductors.
Experience Level
Mid-level — typically requires 5+ years of relevant systems-engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define and maintain system-level architecture and requirements flowdown.
- Develop interface definitions and system models spanning hardware, firmware, and AI design tools.
- Perform trade studies and create validation plans to ensure cross-domain behavior.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, controls, and product teams to drive integration and delivery.
- Document system designs and maintain traceability through development and transfer to production.
Requirements
Must-have:
- 5+ years of systems engineering experience in semiconductor, robotics, or compute systems.
- Experience with requirements flowdown, system modeling, and trade studies.
- Proven cross-functional collaboration across hardware, software, and controls teams.
- Strong documentation skills for system architecture and traceability.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with electromechanical integration, validation planning, or AI-driven hardware design pipelines.
- Prior experience transitioning designs from simulation to silicon and production.
