System Design Validation Engineer (RDSS Intern)
Role Summary
This internship performs board- and system-level validation and power qualification for NVIDIA platforms including Data Center, Graphics, ARM-based, and Autonomous Driving systems.
The role executes functional and signal tests, supports debug and failure analysis, and collaborates with hardware, mechanical/thermal, and firmware teams to verify platform behavior.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship. Suitable for master's students or recent graduates; no specific years of professional experience required.
Responsibilities
Primary validation and test activities for system and board functionality.
- Perform server, motherboard, and mobile system functional tests, including gaming and wide-area tests.
- Measure and verify clock, sequencing, and GPIO signals.
- Run high- and low-speed interface signal integrity tests.
- Execute power qualification tests and collaborate on DC-DC power measurements as needed.
- Debug hardware issues and perform failure analysis with hardware design engineers.
- Coordinate with mechanical/thermal engineers on cooler and heatsink integration and validation.
Requirements

- Must-have: Proficient with Linux and GPU system setup; able to write simple shell scripts and analyze results using command-line tools.
- Must-have: Familiarity with PC and datacenter hardware assembly, motherboard BIOS updates, and network troubleshooting.
- Must-have: Proficient in at least one programming language (C/C++, Python, Java, or Perl).
- Must-have: Understanding of UEFI boot process and out-of-band management using BMC, ipmitool, and Redfish.
- Must-have: Good English communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: Experience measuring DC-DC power solutions and performing power-related verification.
- Nice-to-have: Proactive, creative, quick-thinking, and able to work well in a team.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related major (as stated in the posting).
