Sys/Test Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Execute L10 system-level validation focused on server BIOS and BMC to ensure platform readiness for release. Work on triage, reproduction, debugging, and verification of firmware-related issues across firmware, hardware, and board teams.
Deliver and improve test coverage, procedures, and basic automation to prevent customer-visible quality escapes.

Responsibilities
Primary duties for the role include system-level validation, defect triage, and verification of fixes.
- Execute L10 system test cases to validate server BIOS and BMC functionality.
- Validate BIOS and BMC behavior across boot, power, reset, and management flows on server platforms.
- Analyze, reproduce, and document system-level failures found during L10 validation.
- Work with firmware, hardware, and board design teams to triage failures and track issues to resolution.
- Confirm fixes through re-validation and use platform-level debug tools and system environments for root-cause analysis.
- Support improvements to L10 validation coverage and test procedures based on defect findings.
- Maintain and enhance test scripts or basic automation used in system validation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities; preferred items are listed separately.
- Hands-on experience validating server BIOS and BMC functionality and system-level testing.
- Ability to debug system-level issues involving BIOS, BMC, firmware, or hardware interactions.
- General understanding of server platform architecture (CPU, memory, chipset).
- Experience using scripting languages (Python, shell, etc.) for test development or debug support.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional HW/SW/architecture teams.
- Comfortable working directly with firmware, hardware, and board development teams to resolve issues.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in post-silicon system validation or L10 testing on server platforms.
- Familiarity with board bring-up and platform-level debug tools.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
