Job Title
Subsystem/SoC Level Verification Engineer
Role Summary
The engineer will lead subsystem and SoC functional verification for Ethernet-related IP and subsystems. The role is on a verification team responsible for planning, developing, and executing verification environments and tests for block and system level designs.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 12–15 years of relevant experience in Ethernet subsystem/SoC functional verification.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include designing verification infrastructure, implementing tests, and diagnosing failures at block and system level.
- Design and implement verification environments using SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Develop BFMs, checkers, monitors, and scoreboards.
- Create block- and system-level verification plans and tests; execute and iterate on them.
- Debug test failures to determine root cause and drive fixes.
- Implement and analyze code and functional coverage.
- Perform constrained-random verification and gate-level/SDF simulation flows.
- Collaborate across IP, subsystem, and SoC projects and tool flows (Cadence/Synopsys).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and domain experience; listed are core requirements followed by additional desirable skills.
-
Must-have: Proven experience in Ethernet subsystem/SoC functional verification (MAC, PCS, SerDes) at block and system level.
-
Must-have: Strong hands-on experience with SystemVerilog and UVM to build verification environments.
-
Must-have: Experience developing BFMs, checkers, monitors, and scoreboards.
-
Must-have: Experience debugging complex test failures and determining root causes.
-
Must-have: Practical experience with code and functional coverage and constrained-random verification.
-
Must-have: Experience with gate-level/SDF simulations.
-
Desirable: Scripting experience (Perl, Tcl) to support flows and automation.
-
Desirable: Familiarity with Cadence and Synopsys verification toolflows.
-
Desirable: Flexible to contribute across IP, subsystem, and SoC projects.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering (or equivalent technical degree).
