Job Title

Pre-Silicon Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work on presilicon verification for mixed-signal components to ensure functionality, timing, power and performance targets are met. The role sits in the Central Engineering Group and collaborates with digital and analog architects, RTL developers, physical design teams, and product architects.

This is a fully home-based role (remote within the country of employment) while Intel establishes local offices; the work focuses on building verification environments, models, and flows for pre-silicon validation.

Experience Level

Entry / Early career. Typical candidates have 0–3 years of relevant experience; minimum qualifications reference a Bachelor's with 1+ years or a Master's with 0+ years in verification roles.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities focus on planning, building, executing, and improving verification for mixed-signal designs.

  • Develop and execute verification plans that cover architectural and microarchitectural specifications.
  • Build and maintain testbenches and verification environments to validate functionality, timing, and power.
  • Create analog behavioral and system simulation models for presilicon validation.
  • Replicate, root-cause, and debug presilicon issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams to optimize verification flow.
  • Perform technical reviews of test plans and proofs with design and architecture teams.
  • Enhance verification infrastructure and methodologies to improve coverage and efficiency.
  • Use scripting and advanced tools (including AI-assisted tools where applicable) to automate test plan generation, test execution, and triage.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role.

  • Practical experience writing verification code and testbenches using SystemVerilog and Verilog.
  • Experience debugging presilicon issues and implementing corrective measures.
  • Experience building and maintaining verification environments and testbenches for mixed-signal or complex designs.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python) to automate verification flows.
  • Ability to collaborate across digital, analog, and physical design teams and to participate in technical reviews.
  • Familiarity with simulation/modeling of analog behaviors and system-level interactions.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with OVM/UVM verification methodologies and object-oriented verification.
  • Experience developing test environments and coverage-driven verification plans.
  • Experience leveraging AI-based tools to improve verification productivity.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (with 1+ years of design verification experience) or a Master's degree in a related field (entry with 0+ years). The posting accepts related technical degrees; no specific certifications are required or listed.
