Subsystem/SoC Level Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for subsystem and SoC functional verification in the Ethernet domain. The role develops verification environments, tests, and infrastructure to verify MAC/PCS/SerDes and related SoC/subsystem integrations.

Works with verification teams to plan and execute verification at block and system levels, identify root causes of failures, and drive coverage to closure.

Experience Level

Senior — 12–15 years of experience in Ethernet Subsystem/SoC functional verification.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop verification environments using SystemVerilog and UVM.
• Implement BFMs, checkers, monitors and scoreboards.
• Author block- and system-level verification plans and tests.
• Execute tests, analyze failures, and perform root-cause debugging.
• Measure and improve code and functional coverage to achieve sign-off.
• Develop constrained-random verification scenarios and stimulus.
• Run gate-level and SDF-annotated simulations.
• Automate flows and write scripts using Perl and Tcl.
• Support multiple IP/subsystem/SoC projects and hand off verification artifacts to downstream teams.

Requirements

Must-have skills and technologies:

• Proven experience in Ethernet Subsystem/SoC verification (MAC, PCS, SerDes).
• Strong SystemVerilog and UVM expertise.
• Experience building BFMs, checkers, monitors, and scoreboards.
• Experience creating verification plans and developing tests for block and system levels.
• Skilled in debug and root-cause analysis of functional failures.
• Experience with code and functional coverage methodologies.
• Constrained-random verification experience.
• Experience with gate-level/SDF simulations.
• Familiarity with scripting (Perl, Tcl) and CAD tool flows (Cadence/Synopsys).
• Ability to work across IP, subsystem, and SoC projects.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering.
