Staff Verification Engineer - System IP
Role Summary
Join Arm's System IP verification team in Cambridge to own verification of IP units across the design and verification flow. The team develops and validates System IP products (CoreLink and CoreSight) used in a wide range of systems from embedded devices to hyperscale cloud.
This role is based at Arm's Cambridge engineering centre and involves close collaboration with RTL designers, driving quality and delivery, and mentoring junior engineers. No relocation package is available; employer-only sponsorship costs may be supported where stated by immigration policy.
Experience Level
Senior (Staff). Typical experience: 7+ years in RTL verification of complex ASIC products.
Responsibilities
The engineer will own verification for a unit through all phases of the project. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop verification strategies in collaboration with RTL designers.
- Create and review verification documentation and specifications.
- Design and implement SystemVerilog/UVM verification IP and testbenches.
- Improve testbench performance, quality, and efficiency.
- Test, debug and validate Verilog RTL.
- Define and implement functional coverage and drive coverage closure.
- Plan and track tasks to meet delivery targets and ensure design quality.
- Coach and mentor junior verification engineers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Substantial experience in RTL verification of complex ASIC products.
- Proficiency in a hardware verification language, preferably SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Experience developing coverage-driven, constrained-random test environments.
- Experience producing specifications and documentation for complex designs.
- Understanding of computer architecture fundamentals.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Nice-to-have:
- Scripting with Python or Perl.
- Experience across design cycle phases: concept, specification, implementation, testing and support.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Knowledge of formal verification techniques and tools.
- Experience with hardware design languages such as Verilog.
