Staff Verification Engineer - Security Blocks
Role Summary
Lead functional verification for security-related IP and processor subsystems. Develop verification strategies, build SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, and drive coverage closure for RISC-V based security features within the verification team.
Experience Level
Senior - target 7–12 years of design verification (DV) experience, preferably with CPU verification.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Analyze architectural specifications and produce verification strategies and detailed test plans.
- Design and implement scalable, reusable UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches and verification components.
- Create constrained-random sequences and directed tests to exercise corner cases and security features.
- Debug RTL and testbench failures using waveform viewers (e.g., Verdi, SimVision) and perform root-cause analysis.
- Define, implement and track functional and code coverage (covergroups/coverpoints) and drive coverage closure.
- Integrate and validate third-party VIPs and bus interfaces; verify protocols such as AXI and AHB.
- Collaborate with RTL designers and architects to resolve verification issues and document results.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical skills:
- Must-have: Proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM; strong object-oriented programming skills.
- Experience writing verification tests and implementing test plans for CPUs or complex IP (x86, ARM, or RISC-V).
- Scripting experience (Python preferred); familiarity with C/C++ for test infrastructure.
- Bus interface knowledge such as AXI and AHB; experience integrating third-party VIPs.
- CPU micro-architecture understanding and proven RTL debugging experience with tools like Verdi or SimVision.
- Nice-to-have: Prior experience with RISC-V specification and RISC-V security architecture; familiarity with PCIe; experience with OVM/VMM.
Education Requirements
