Staff Verification Engineer - Media IP
ArmJob Title
Staff Verification Engineer - Media IP
Role Summary
Lead verification activities for Arm Systems Media IP (Image Signal Processors, Display Processors and Video codecs) within the DPU/subsystem scope. The role owns verification planning, architecture and execution from early planning through sign-off.
The position works across architecture, design and software teams to deliver reusable, scalable SystemVerilog/UVM verification environments and measurable quality outcomes for IP targeted at automotive, IoT and client markets.
Experience Level
Senior (Staff) level - senior engineering role. The posting implies an experienced engineer who has owned subsystem or complex unit verification; no explicit years-of-experience requirement stated.
Responsibilities
Accountable for verification strategy, architecture and delivery for DPU subsystems or complex DPU units.
- Own and drive verification from planning through sign-off for a DPU subsystem or a particularly complex unit.
- Define verification plans, coverage models and sign-off criteria for the owned scope.
- Architect and implement reusable, scalable SystemVerilog/UVM environments and verification IP.
- Integrate verification strategy across units and subsystems and align activities with dependent teams.
- Identify technical and schedule risks early and lead mitigation to resolution.
- Lead debugging and resolution of complex unit-, cross-unit- and system-level failures.
- Drive improvements in verification methodology, automation, regression efficiency and CI workflows.
- Use verification data to identify quality gaps and guide engineering priorities.
- Review design/architecture changes for testability, observability and verification complexity.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and desirable additional capabilities.
- Must-have: Extensive hands-on experience with SystemVerilog and UVM, including architecture and implementation of complex verification environments.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with on-chip bus protocols such as AMBA APB and AXI or equivalent industry-standard protocols.
- Must-have: Experience developing verification plans from scratch for complex IP or subsystems, including strategy, stimulus, checking, coverage and sign-off.
- Must-have: Experience owning verification for a subsystem comprising multiple units or for a particularly complex unit.
- Must-have: Experience building verification testbenches and familiarity with verification tooling and workflows (regression setup, triage, version control, linting).
- Must-have: Programming experience in Python, C or a similar language for test/verification infrastructure.
- Must-have: Strong ownership, ability to work through evolving specifications, stakeholder engagement and clear communication.
Nice-to-have:
