Job Title

Staff Verification Engineer (IP verification)

Role Summary

Lead verification of complex IP blocks (e.g. crypto accelerators, HW DVFS, PCIe controllers, interconnect fabrics) and ensure correct integration with software and other IP. Work within Arm’s Systems team focused on AI and broad market platforms (mobile, server, IoT, automotive).

The role covers test-plan definition, development of C-based embedded tests and SystemVerilog/Verilog testbenches, debugging failures, and cross-team collaboration to deliver production-quality IP.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The title indicates a senior/staff role; no explicit years-of-experience were specified.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Write verification and test plans and define test methodologies.
  • Develop embedded software tests in C/C++ and assembly for SoC verification.
  • Implement SystemVerilog/Verilog testbenches and verification tests (UVM where applicable).
  • Debug and triage test failures across hardware and software boundaries.
  • Plan tasks, estimate schedules, and report progress with project leads.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, modelling, performance analysis, silicon validation, FPGA and board teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Proven experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog for digital hardware verification.
  • Familiarity with verification methodologies such as UVM, formal, or power-aware verification.
  • SoC verification experience including low-level embedded programming (C/C++ and assembly; ARM preferred).
  • Experience across verification stages: requirements, methodology plans, testbench implementation, test-case development and documentation.
  • Clock domain crossing verification and UPF-based power-aware verification experience.
  • Experience with GLS and DFT/DFD techniques.
  • Scripting and automation skills (Tcl, Perl, Python, shell).
  • Strong problem solving and debugging skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to formal verification tools (JasperGold/VC Formal).
  • Experience in hardware security or cryptographic algorithms.
  • Understanding of machine-learning techniques applied to verification.
  • Familiarity with ARM proprietary tools and environments.
