Job Title
Staff Verification Engineer (IP verification)
Role Summary
Join Arm's Systems team to verify complex IP and subsystems (e.g., crypto accelerators, HW DVFS, PCIe controllers, interconnect fabrics) and ensure they interoperate with software and other IP. The role focusses on planning and executing verification strategies across simulation, software-driven tests and power-aware/clock-domain scenarios.
Experience Level
Senior (staff-level).
Responsibilities
Deliver verification plans, tests and debug to ensure IP correctness and integration.
- Create test plans and define verification methodologies for IP and subsystems.
- Develop C/C++ software tests, assembly tests and SystemVerilog/Verilog testbenches and test cases.
- Implement testbenches using relevant verification methodologies (e.g., UVM) and automate flows.
- Debug failures, analyse results and drive fixes with design, architecture and software teams.
- Plan and report verification tasks and schedules with project leads.
- Collaborate with FPGA, board development, silicon validation and performance teams for system-level validation.
Requirements
Core technical skills and practical verification experience required.
- Proven experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog HDLs and testbench development.
- Experience with SoC verification and embedded low-level programming (C/C++ tests and assembly).
- Familiarity with verification approaches such as UVM, formal methods, and power-aware verification (UPF).
- Experience in IP/SoC verification flow: requirements capture, methodology planning, test plan and test case development.
- Clock domain crossing verification experience and strong debugging/problem-solving skills.
- Experience with GLS, DFT/DFD and power-aware verification (UPF) in practice.
- Automation and scripting experience (Tcl, Perl, Python, shell scripting).
- Willingness to explore and apply AI-based methods to verification workflows.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to formal tools (e.g., JasperGold/VC Formal).
- Prior experience in hardware security, cryptographic algorithms, or ML applications in verification.
- Familiarity with Arm proprietary tools and ARM-based build environments.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
