Staff Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Design and execute validation test plans for enterprise and datacenter NVMe SSD products. Work with architecture, hardware, firmware and software teams to build test coverage, reproduce and triage failures, and drive issues to resolution.

Senior level - role title indicates senior/Staff level. Employer guidance shows this role expects experience consistent with a Staff engineer (approximately 5+ years of relevant experience).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on test design, execution, automation, failure analysis, and improving validation coverage and efficiency.
- Design and develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts for NVMe SSD validation.
- Set up test configurations and execute test cases; record and report test results.
- Collaborate with Architecture, Design, Hardware and Firmware teams to implement and validate test cases.
- Triage failures, reproduce issues, perform root-cause analysis and drive resolutions.
- Develop and maintain test sequences, libraries, and automation frameworks.
- Use protocol analyzers and networking tools to validate protocols and data flows.
- Review existing test plans and coverage; recommend and implement improvements for effectiveness and efficiency.
- Plan test schedules and strategies to meet project scope and delivery dates.
- Communicate program and project status, risks, and technical strategies to stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience for successful performance in this role.
- Experience validating NVMe SSDs and storage product behavior across firmware and software stacks.
- Test design, test case development, and test configuration setup experience.
- Hands-on use of protocol analyzers and familiarity with routing and Ethernet protocols.
- Proficiency creating and using scripts for test automation and data collection.
- Experience with automation frameworks and embedded OS/Linux test environments.
- Experience with storage features such as RAID and filesystem-based systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and systematic approaches to reproduce and root-cause integration issues.
- Ability to develop and maintain test sequences and libraries to support validation goals.
- Clear technical communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Education Requirements
Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field, followed by 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
