Senior Technical Staff Engineer - Verification
Role Summary
Verification-focused technical staff engineer in the Communications Business Unit Product Development team. Responsible for defining verification strategy and architectures, delivering verification platforms, driving coverage closure and sign-off readiness for communication semiconductor devices and subsystems, and mentoring verification engineers.
Experience Level
Senior - 12+ years of related experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define and own verification architecture and strategy across block, subsystem and device levels.
- Create risk-based verification plans from system use cases and device requirements.
- Design and implement UVM/SystemVerilog-based verification platforms, assertions, and coverage models.
- Drive verification execution: regressions, debug, coverage closure, and sign-off readiness.
- Mentor and provide technical direction to verification engineers; lead small teams as needed.
- Collaborate with product, design, software, validation and applications teams to align verification with system goals.
- Participate in concept and feasibility studies to identify verification risks and methodology needs early in the cycle.
- Improve internal verification flows, reuse, automation and best practices.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills:
- 12+ years of verification or related experience in digital ASIC/SoC projects.
- Proven experience verifying complex digital integrated circuits using SystemVerilog, UVM, assertions, constrained-random testing, coverage-driven verification, and/or formal verification.
- Strong coding skills and scripting experience (Tcl/Perl/Python) and experience with C/C++ and XML.
- Experience with Synopsys, Cadence or similar verification, simulation, formal, debug, coverage or regression management tools.
- Excellent analytical, debugging and communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with communication protocols (Ethernet, OTN, ASA) - asset.
- Experience with advanced silicon process technologies and complex SoC verification environments - asset.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
