Staff Team Lead - SoC Software
Role Summary
Lead a team within Arm's Infrastructure Solutions Software group (CE-SW) to deliver system and SoC-related software for cloud and data-center products. Combine hands-on technical contribution with people and technical leadership across pre-silicon, silicon bring-up and production readiness.
Collaborate with hardware, firmware, architecture and system teams to drive delivery of reliable, production-quality software for Neoverse platforms.
Experience Level
Senior - staff/lead level role. Senior engineering and technical leadership experience expected.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include leading technical execution and developing the engineering capability of the team.
- Lead, coach and manage a team of engineers while remaining technically active.
- Define technical plans, break down requirements into tasks, and drive delivery across SoC, firmware and system software.
- Support pre-silicon development, silicon bring-up and production readiness activities.
- Coordinate cross-team dependencies, diagnose and resolve multidisciplinary technical issues.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience; followed by desirable skills.
- Proven experience delivering complex system software in embedded or infrastructure SoC environments.
- Proven experience leading and developing engineers; strong technical leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of low-level systems: bootloaders, device drivers, OS fundamentals (preferably Linux), and computer architecture.
- Proficient in C or similar languages, with strong debugging and optimization skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; ability to collaborate across engineering functions.
- Nice to have: familiarity with Linux kernel, Trusted Firmware-A (TF-A), UEFI EDK II, OpenBMC or KVM.
- Nice to have: experience with server-class SoC features such as RAS, power management, PCIe, CXL, memory and virtualization.
