Job Title

Staff Systems Implementation Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the CE-Systems implementation team responsible for delivering configurable soft IP to internal teams and external partners. Focus areas include implementation flow and methodology development, partner support, PPA (performance, power, area) analysis and optimization, and mapping implementation practices into partner environments.

Role is based in Austin and follows Arm's hybrid working model.

Experience Level

Senior-level (Staff). The posting implies significant senior experience; no explicit years-of-experience requirement stated.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Ensure delivered IP meets partner goals and can be integrated into partner flows.
  • Develop and maintain understanding of design-space PPA to guide early what‑if analysis.
  • Identify and implement implementation and performance optimizations.
  • Support frontend teams and partners on advanced process nodes and complex configuration scenarios.
  • Perform implementation analysis, provide RTL design feedback and power analysis input.
  • Develop tooling and methodologies and promote their adoption across international teams.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Proven ownership of technical delivery for large projects or programs.
  • Hands-on experience with the full IC design flow from RTL through GDS2 on advanced nodes (5nm, 3nm, 2nm).
  • Ability to communicate technical insights effectively to engineers with and without implementation backgrounds.
  • Experience creating tooling and methodologies to address implementation challenges and scaling them across teams.
  • Strong scripting skills (examples: TCL, Python, Perl, R).

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with broader programming and data-presentation tools (C/C++, Java, SQL, R, Ruby, etc.).
  • Low-power design techniques (power gating, voltage/frequency scaling) and SoC architecture experience.
  • Knowledge of system interconnects and protocols, Verilog RTL design, and data-management tooling (Artifactory, LakeFS, PostgreSQL, MySQL).

Education Requirements

Master's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience accepted.

Salary range: $198,100 - $268,000 per year (USD).
