Staff System Enablement Engineer

Role Summary

Validate Micron DRAM products on server, client, and emerging compute platforms to ensure platform readiness before customer deployment. Work at the intersection of memory technology, platform architecture, firmware, and system-level validation.

This hands-on role leads platform bring-up, complex debug, and cross-team collaboration with internal groups and external platform partners to drive issues to resolution.

Experience Level

Senior β€” minimum 5+ years of experience in hardware validation, system test, platform bring-up, firmware validation, semiconductor engineering, or a related role.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include platform validation, debugging, and communication of findings.

  • Lead platform bring-up and system debug across server, client, and emerging compute platforms, including BIOS, firmware, memory training, and system stability.
  • Develop and execute memory validation plans for performance, compatibility, reliability, and platform readiness.
  • Drive failure analysis and root-cause investigations; document findings, corrective actions, and readiness risks.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, quality, and program teams and align with external platform partners on priorities and corrective actions.
  • Use automation, scripting, data analysis, and AI-assisted workflows to improve validation efficiency and coverage.
  • Present validation results and technical findings to engineering, program, and customer-facing stakeholders.
  • Perform hands-on lab validation using hardware platforms, diagnostic instruments, and structured debug methodologies.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for the role.

  • 5+ years of experience in hardware validation, system test, platform bring-up, firmware validation, semiconductor engineering, or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, processors, memory subsystems, firmware interaction, operating systems, and platform validation.
  • Hands-on hardware debug experience with diagnostic tools, issue tracking, and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Experience with scripting or programming for automation and data analysis (examples: Python, C, C++, C#, SQL).

Nice-to-have / preferred:

  • Experience with DRAM, memory modules, memory controllers, BIOS interaction, or memory subsystem validation.
  • Experience validating Intel, AMD, or ARM-based platforms in Linux, Windows, or UEFI environments.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, power measurement equipment, or similar diagnostic tools.
  • Experience applying AI tools to improve automation, data analysis, documentation, or engineering workflows.
  • Proven ability to lead complex debug efforts and manage multiple priorities.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
