Staff System Architect
Role Summary
Senior system architect within the Central Technology Systems Group responsible for defining platform architecture for Arm-based embedded SoCs. The role spans hardware, software, tools and IP integration and works across architecture and core technology teams.
The role leads architecture concept evaluation, experiments and specification authoring to enable engineering teams to build platforms centered on Cortex-A, Cortex-M and Mali GPU-based devices.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop technology roadmap in collaboration with engineering leadership and product planning teams.
- Translate technology requirements into platform architecture spanning hardware, software, tools and other components.
- Collaborate with architecture and core technology teams to define architecture platforms and features for Arm-based embedded device SoCs.
- Lead and own multiple areas of system architecture; propose and evaluate architecture concepts and IP features under the direction of an Architecture Lead.
- Author high-quality technical content and high-level architecture specifications for internal and customer use.
- Design experiments and analyses; create or drive development of simulators, models, profilers and other tools needed for architectural evaluation.
- Communicate technical results clearly across audiences from individual engineers to senior technology and business leadership.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications and skills (must-have and nice-to-have):
Must-have:
- Proven track record in embedded SoC architecture work involving Cortex-M and Cortex-A CPUs or equivalent experience.
- Technical background in embedded SoC and IP development and integration.
- Ability to work within teams to drive progress in ambitious engineering environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Project hardware technical lead experience.
- Understanding of software impact on hardware design.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering / Electronic Engineering / Computer Engineering / Computer Science or related field required. MS or PhD is advantageous. (Source states degree requirements explicitly.)
