Job Title

Staff System Application Engineer

Role Summary

Senior-level, customer-facing systems engineer on the Consumer Audio team. Responsible for integrating ADI solutions into speaker and audio amplifier signal chains with emphasis on smart amplifiers and power-aware system optimization for high-volume consumer products.

Works across signal processing, analog/mixed-signal hardware, power management, firmware, and algorithms to deliver production-ready playback designs, reference material, and customer support while influencing product direction.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include system architecture, optimization, and customer engagement across audio playback designs.

  • Act as a trusted technical partner to key OEM customers and support customer bring-up, validation, and production ramp.
  • Define and support system architectures for audio signal chains, speaker paths, and power integration.
  • Drive system performance optimization including tuning and algorithm integration.
  • Deliver reference designs, validation strategies, and provide debug support.
  • Solve complex system-level issues spanning hardware, firmware, and algorithms.
  • Influence product roadmap through customer insights and technical leadership.
  • Support production ramp and provide on-site customer support as required (travel up to ~20%).

Requirements

  • Strong system-level debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven success in a customer-facing engineering role.
  • Experience in consumer audio systems or related mixed-signal / embedded platforms.
  • Working knowledge of audio or system performance fundamentals.
  • Experience in one or more of: signal processing systems; analog/mixed-signal hardware; acoustics or electro-acoustic systems; power systems (including DC/DC); embedded or firmware-based systems.
  • Ability to operate effectively across multiple technical domains with a system mindset.

Nice-to-have / preferred:

  • Experience with audio enhancement, tuning, or speaker protection algorithms and audio DSP concepts.
  • Mechanical design/prototyping, PCB design, or programming/scripting skills.
  • Experience supporting high-volume consumer products; additional language skills (Korean) are a plus.
