Staff SW Systems Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead system-level modeling, virtual prototyping, and early software enablement for next-generation SoCs within the Engineering Enablement group. The role connects SoC architecture, hardware design, and software teams to deliver performance-optimized models and prototypes prior to silicon tape-out.
Work includes customer-facing enablement and internal coordination to ensure early software development readiness. Travel approximately 10%.

Responsibilities
Deliver and maintain pre-silicon models and virtual platforms that enable early software development and customer integration.
- Design and implement high-fidelity virtual platforms for internal SW development and customer enablement.
- Develop and integrate SystemC/TLM 2.0 and high-level C/C++ SoC models.
- Create automation and scripting for modeling workflows using C++ and Python.
- Develop AI-enabled tools and environments to simplify building and adopting virtual prototypes.
- Troubleshoot complex system-level issues and act as the escalation point for pre-silicon customer feedback.
- Collaborate with architecture, hardware, software, and product teams to define model requirements and delivery timelines.
Requirements
Core technical qualifications and desirable additions.
- 7+ years of industry experience in SoC design, architecture, or system-level modeling.
- Hands-on experience with SystemC, TLM 2.0, and high-level modeling in C/C++.
- Expert-level C++ programming; experience with Python and scripting for modeling automation.
- Deep understanding of SoC architecture, including CPU subsystems (ARM or RISC-V), bus protocols (AMBA AXI/CHI), and memory hierarchies.
- Demonstrated ability to drive technical decisions across cross-functional teams.
- Nice-to-have: experience with virtual prototyping platforms, customer-facing pre-silicon enablement, and AI-based tooling for modeling workflows.
