Staff/Sr Staff Product Test Engineer

Role Summary

Owner of sustaining product and test programs for power ICs in high-volume production. Focus on maintaining product continuity, improving yield and COGS, resolving production and package issues, and ensuring manufacturability and reliability.

Work closely with design, test, manufacturing, quality, and third-party OSATs to support mature products, drive yield improvement, and address customer returns.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities as the sustaining product/test owner:

• Act as Mass Production Sustaining Test Program owner across multiple products and lifecycles.
• Drive COGS reduction and process optimization: yield, volume, test time, and failure-rate improvements.
• Improve test processes and implement preventive measures against quality excursions.
• Develop automation tools to improve operational performance and reporting efficiency.
• Support customer return analysis (RMA/FA), investigate failure modes, and increase test coverage.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Interface with Operations, QA, Reliability, Factory and OSAT partners to resolve issues.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Experience with test hardware and test program development for production ATE.
• Hands-on experience with ATE platforms such as Advantest V93K, Terradyne ETS, COHU Diamondx, or SPEA DOT800.
• Programming/scripting experience (examples: C++, BASIC, Perl, Python).
• Proficient with ATE analog and digital instruments; strong debug and troubleshooting skills.
• Data manipulation and analysis skills; familiarity with JMP. (PDF Exenso listed as a plus.)
• Product management awareness with focus on cost, ROI and operational efficiency.
• Strong verbal and written English communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Onsite work required (role is not remote).
• 5+ years of practical experience working with Automated Test Systems (ATE).

Education Requirements
