Staff / Sr Staff / Principal Engineer - Yield & Diagnostics Engineering

Role Summary

Lead the Yield & Diagnostics Engineering team in Bengaluru to improve semiconductor manufacturing yield through analysis, diagnostics, automation and data-driven solutions. Drive initiatives across yield analysis, failure analysis, DFT/scan/MBIST, manufacturing data analytics and application of AI in engineering workflows.

Experience Level

Senior. The role targets experienced engineers; the posting requests candidates with 10+ years of relevant experience for a team lead capacity.

Responsibilities

The position combines technical leadership, hands-on diagnostics and program delivery.

  • Lead and mentor a team executing yield analysis and yield-improvement programs.
  • Perform failure analysis and root-cause diagnostics for silicon and production issues.
  • Design and validate DFT strategies including scan and MBIST adoption and improvements.
  • Develop and deploy automation and data pipelines for manufacturing analytics.
  • Integrate AI/ML methods into diagnostics and yield workflows to accelerate problem resolution.
  • Collaborate with design, test, process and fab partners to drive corrective actions.
  • Define metrics, report progress, and ensure delivery of yield objectives.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in semiconductor yield analysis and yield improvement programs.
  • Proven track record in failure analysis and diagnostics for complex designs.
  • Strong expertise in Scan and MBIST design and DFT fundamentals; familiarity with related tools.
  • Experience building automation, data analytics pipelines, and applying AI to engineering workflows.
  • Practical exposure to 3D IC technologies and manufacturing interfaces is highly valued.
  • Leadership experience, including team lead responsibilities and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficiency with scripting or engineering software for data analysis and tool integration.

Education Requirements

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of hardware engineering or related work experience; OR Master's degree in those fields with 3+ years of relevant experience; OR PhD in those fields with 2+ years of relevant experience.
