Staff Software Program Manager - Datacenter team
Role Summary
Lead program management for Qualcomm's Datacenter software across hardware-software co-development for data center products. Own plans of record, schedules, budgets, risks, and cross-functional coordination from initiation through delivery.
Work with engineering, firmware, silicon, validation, and senior stakeholders to drive product releases for complex SoC-based systems.
Experience Level
Senior role. Requires 4+ years of program management experience (preferred 5+), and extensive semiconductor/SoC/software development experience (typically 8+ years) managing hardware-software co-development.
Responsibilities
Manage programs and coordinate stakeholders to ensure delivery of complex semiconductor software and platform projects.
- Develop and execute the program Plan of Record: schedules, resource forecasts, scope, communication plans, and prioritization.
- Track program metrics; identify deviations from plan and drive corrective actions.
- Identify program risks, maintain the risk tracker, and implement mitigation plans.
- Manage and prioritize program team tasks; establish schedules and track task completion.
- Drive alignment and execution across architecture, silicon, firmware, validation, and software teams.
- Monitor budgets and program spending; report status to program sponsors and stakeholders.
- Promote program vision, adopt best practices, and recommend process improvements.
Requirements
Must-have experience and capabilities for immediate contribution.
- Direct experience managing semiconductor or SoC software development programs, including software readiness, firmware, platform software, and silicon bring-up.
- Demonstrated leadership of software development and platform execution for complex semiconductor products.
- 8+ years of semiconductor, SoC, firmware, embedded software, system or platform software development experience.
- 4+ years of program management or related experience; experience interacting with senior leadership (director level and above).
- Experience with program management tools (dashboards, Gantt charts) and tracking key program metrics.
- Experience working in large matrixed organizations.
- Direct semiconductor development and/or manufacturing experience required.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with digital SoC, mixed-signal baseband, RF chips, CPU and AI products or applications.
- Experience driving programs for large-scale data center or infrastructure deployments.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required. A Master's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
